Hiking Trail Maintenance
Yesterday was the perfect fall day for doing hiking trail maintenance. The fall colors are at their peak, and the woodland creatures kept us company while we worked.
Squirrels, chipmunks, and blue jays didn’t seem to mind us being in their neighborhood. This year, there are lots of walnuts and acorns to keep the woodland residents fed on cold winter days.
Being the caretaker of Green Valley is “Just A Walk In The Woods”. The maintenance on Green Valley’s hiking trails is a constant, but pleasant job. Re-marking the trails, clearing away falling trees, and string-trimming overgrown weeds.
Bear Creek Trail
Bear Creek Trail was yesterday’s project. This hiking trail winds alongside of Bear Creek, and starts at Sophronia Cottage. A relatively easy trail to hike with a few challenges along the way. There were quite a few fallen trees along the trail on yesterday’s maintenance project…more work on other trails to follow.
